Library Tower
The new Library Tower high-rise condo at 518 S. State Street, Chicago, faces the city’s Loop business and financial district to the north and the Printer’s Row area to the south. The site is directly across the street from the Harold Washington Public Library and borrows its name from the city landmark. Externally, Library Tower offers an updated traditional styling with red brick and limestone facing that resonates with its surroundings, yet the structure’s clean, sleek lines and broad windows and balconies add a touch of the contemporary and modern. As part of the South Loop redevelopment, Library Tower bridges the gap between the upscale lofts and apartments of Printer’s Row and the bustling energy of downtown Chicago.
Library Tower offers 184 residences on 17 stories, with the convenience of 7,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Residences range from 870-square-foot one bedroom/one- and 1.5 baths to 2,130-square-foot three bedroom/2.5 bath units. Some homes offer a separate den/office that can be converted to a guest bedroom. Many are available with gas fireplaces for cozy evenings at home during those cold Chicago winters. All units have been designed with open floor plans for a loft-like, yet intimate ambience. Residences feature hardwood flooring, kitchens with gourmet islands, stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. Master bedroom suites offer roomy walk-in closets, and bathrooms provide separate showers and soaking tubs with ceramic tile surrounds. Building amenities include round-the-clock doorman service, a business center, state-of-the-art fitness center, a community room, and roof deck with a kitchen and gas grills.
The surrounding neighborhood has been a key selling point for developer Concord Homes. Library Tower’s location is walking distance from Loop business offices and all public transportation, as well as the lakefront, Grant Park, and the Museum Campus. Buddy’s Guy’s Legends blues club and the famed Auditorium Theatre are only blocks away. In addition, the building is adjacent to Roosevelt University, DePaul, and Columbia College. On the edge of Printer’s Row, Library Tower also provides easy access to the shopping, dining, and cultural resources of one of Chicago’s long-established downtown residential neighborhoods.
