Trio
The new Trio complex is planned for Chicago’s Fulton River District, a mixed-use residential neighborhood rising on the border of the Loop business and financial center. Only blocks from the Chicago River, Trio incorporates two seven-story mid-rise buildings along with a 22-story tower. The three structures center around a landscaped courtyard with tranquil water features and a reflecting pool, creating a restful space in the heart of the city. All structures are unified by their sleek steel-and-glass contemporary design, with cuts of limestone, fieldstone, and other natural materials set into the base, giving Trio a home-like, yet expansive prairie feel.
Phase One of construction includes the two mid-rise buildings, which offer one- and two-bedroom/one- and two-bathroom condos for busy urban professionals. Many floor plans include dens, and all units provide spacious open-air terraces, ten-foot ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows to capture sunlight and views of the surrounding city. Living rooms feature hardwood flooring, with carpeting in the bedrooms. Kitchens come with granite counter tops. All the buildings will be pre-wired for multimedia, and a 10,000-square-foot landscaped garden, along with a community and fitness center, will occupy the tower’s roof. Enclosed parking and 10,000 square feet of retail space will be constructed to one side of the complex in order to preserve the private, residential feel of the condo units. In addition to Trio’s own greenery, a three-acre park with tennis courts and a swimming pool is planned for just west of the complex.
Formerly industrial, the West Loop is between Ohio Street and Grand Avenue, west of Orleans Street. Trio’s location will be only steps away from the landmark Merchandise Mart, the Apparel Mart, and the East Bank Club. The Loop’s shopping, dining, and cultural resources are within comfortable walking distance, and Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and the lakefront are only minutes away. Fulton River has long been home to intimate clubs and nightspots, and is currently being redeveloped as a convenient and affordable residential area. Prices for a one-bed/one-bath unit start at just under $200,000.
